Departure

Day 1
     
       There is information I’ve received from my contact which shall lead me to the

enemy kingdom of Rhode.  The tales are that of a merchant with special knowledge of an

ancient spell, when combined with that of a certain stone, grants the user a wish.  O how

can I not keep away from the worlds’ mysteries?  Uncovering the conspiracy to assassinate

the Lionne high family and locating the lost bow of the ancient warrior Kesla, these

journeys have always lead me to excitement and the unknown.  But spells?  Some may say I

am a fool for lending an ear to these fables.  Spells are myths; fantasy.  Those are but

words of non-believers who once thought griffons were extinct before my acquisition of

said beast.  My thoughts run deep.  Something about this journey plagues me, but I can’t

let mere feelings get in the way of this discovery.

     
       I depart for Rhode at dawn break.  Unbeknownst to father, I’ve been planning this

a fortnight.   Father would be furious if he knew of my intended destination, especially

in his current state, hence is why I enlisted the aid of my most trusted advisor to stage

a false meeting which requires my immediate attendance to our neighboring ally.  My most

valued knight, Nal, must stay behind this time to continue on the ruse.  He shall not

worry.  For he has trained me to become a swordsman since I was a mere child.  I shall

have no problems with the bandits and thieves that reside in the slums.  This spell, if

real, has the power to help my father’s deteriorating health.  Not only that, but another

legend shall be put to rest.  I will acquire this at all costs.  How difficult could this

task be to accomplish?
