This reminds me of what one used to see in sci-fi mags or short story collections; a great artwork that was kind of vague...yet imaginative and inspiring. It's easy for a writer like me to imagine a great fictional universe behind pics like this. The scars across the closer moon are particularly interesting. Very nice stuff. The sepia tone is a cute touch; makes me think this is simply a vacation photo from the two people way down the beach. And as much as I love Star Wars, it's great to see a sci-fi pic *without* a battle scene for once too.
This is a beautiful and imaginative work of art and I like the colour scheme.
Just one little word - the smaller planet/moon is halfway not visible, you should not be able to see the stars "trough" it. Now it looks like the stars are actually in front of the moon or that the moon is broken or transparent, which I imagine was not your idea.
Cut out a circular object corresponding with the planet in the same place from the stars layer (or blur them, depending on wich program you use)! When these stars get removed it'd look more real.
